Due to the sudden decision of the Railways, the tickets of thousands of passengers going home on Holi were cancelled.
Western Railway spoiled the Holi of the passengers. At a time when a large number of migrants from Surat are going home to celebrate Holi, the Railways canceled 40 trains. Due to this, tickets of more than 60 thousand passengers have been cancelled. Not only this, an amount of more than Rs 3.67 crore has got stuck. Due to this mismanagement of the Railways, passengers who had booked tickets three months in advance are stuck in limbo.
Tickets of thousands of passengers were canceled
It is also difficult for passengers to get confirmed tickets now. Western Railway has taken block till 4th, 5th and 6th March due to non-interlocking work at Udhna yard. Almost all major trains have been canceled from this block for three days. Tapti Ganga train has also been affected by this block. Due to the sudden decision of the Railways, the tickets of thousands of passengers have been cancelled.
Suddenly a big block was taken on March 4, 5 and 6 for non-interlocking in Surat’s Udhna yard.

Railway officials are saying that after this block, the platform of Udhna station will start for four and five passenger trains. This will provide convenience to the passengers in future. 40 trains have been cancelled, same number of trains will be run through partially canceled trains and diverted routes. These days there was a huge crowd of passengers going to the village at the Surat railway station. Along with celebrating Holi in the village, people were also going to participate in marriages. On March 5 and 6, a large number of people were about to go to the village. His dream was shattered due to the cancellation of trains.
These major trains will be partially canceled
19034 Ahmedabad-Valsad Express leaving Bharuch on 5 March will be short terminated at Bharuch and will return as train number 19033 from Bharuch. Train No. 20908 Bhuj-Dadar Express leaving Ankleshwar on March 4 will be short terminated at Ankleshwar and will return as Train No. 20907 from Ankleshwar. Train No. 09156 Vadodara – Surat MEMU Special leaving Kosad on March 5 will be short terminated at Kosad and will return as Train No. 09155 from Kosad. Train No. 19106 Paldhi-Udhna Express scheduled to leave on 4th and 5th March, 2023 will remain partially canceled between Chalthan-Chalthan.

All MEMU trains also canceled
Apart from Express, all MEMU trains will also remain cancelled. There are 1500 seats in a train. If we consider the average fare of one seat as Rs 700, then it is Rs 3.67 crore. Online tickets will be automatically canceled and the amount will be credited to the bank account. Tickets at the counter will be canceled for the next 72 hours from the departure time of the train.

Yard remodeling work is being done from March 3 to Monday, March 6, 2023 to facilitate the movement of trains at Udhna Junction. Presently Udhna station serves as a junction for the Mumbai-Delhi/Ahmedabad mainline and the Udhna-Jalgaon line.
