Weather Update: Rain Predicted For Next 3 Days In 6 North Indian States, Including Delhi

Weather Update: Fog and cold have disturbed people in the capital city for past few weeks. The double whammy of rain with increasing cold has had a deep impact not only in Delhi but in most of the north Indian states.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of a new western disturbance. This disturbance is likely to affect entire North India which may lead to heavy rains in Delhi on January 21, 22 and 23.

Meteorological department has also issued a “yellow alert” in Delhi for January 22.

According to meteorologist RK Jenamani, Delhi is witnessing days such cloudy mornings and evenings after 2015 adding that it is a matter of relief that the day temperature will rise slightly from today.

“Western disturbances are usually active in January, this year too light rain is expected from last night due to the disturbance. The past day has also received some rain in Pathankot, Haryana, Delhi etc in Punjab. But due to light drizzle, deep fog was witnessed on the outskirts of Delhi this morning,” he added.

IMD said that dense fog may prevail in many parts of north India in the next two days. Dense fog may prevail in states including Rajasthan, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh in the morning and evening for two days, while light to moderate rain may also occur in these areas.

In Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, the day temperature will be around 12-13 degrees Celsius. There will be no impact of rain or western disturbances in southern India.

Jharkhand has also been experiencing severe cold from the past few days. The department said that tomorrow i.e. on January 22, there may be rain in Ranchi and surrounding areas, while there will be fog on mornings of 25and 26.
