PURI : All India Railway Men’s Federation (AIRF) General Secretary Shivgopal Mishra said that we have faith in the Railway Minister, but not in the policy and intention of the government. Referring to several meetings with the Railway Minister, Mishra said that Ashwini Vaishnav assured that the work which the railway employees are doing efficiently will never be outsourced, but the government is conspiring to privatize it piece by piece. AIRF does not approve of this. Mishra was addressing the 98th National Convention held in Puri.

General Secretary Shivgopal Mishra also said in the national convention that old pension is not charity, it is social security of railway employees, the federation is ready to go to any extent to get it back. For this, the Federation is preparing for a big movement. The General Secretary said that two Railway Ministers advocated giving pension from the government treasury, but the Finance Ministry is silent. There will be a big movement before the next Lok Sabha elections, in which all government employees, state employees and central employees from all over the country will be called to Delhi and will gherao the Parliament. Even after this, if things don’t work out, we will not back down even from jamming the wheel of the train. He also talked about fighting on the arrears of DA.

In the convention, AIRF President Dr. N. Kanhaiya said that the facilities being provided at present have also been the result of a long struggle. The government should only act on the demands of railway employees with an open mind. Today the employees are aware about their rights, but they are also ready to pay the price to get it. East Coast Railway General Manager Roop Narayan Sonkar, CEO Alka Arora Mishra, PCPO PK Mandal, DRM Rinkle Rai besides AIRF Working President JR Bhosle, Treasurer Shankarrao, Raja Sridhar, Zonal General Secretaries KL Gupta, AM D’Cruz, Mukesh Mathur, Mukesh Galav, Venu P Nair, S N P Srivastava, R D Yadav, Dr Ashish Biswas, Amit Ghosh, SK Tyagi, Manoj Behera, L N Pathak, AIRF Women Chairperson Jaya Agarwal, AIRF Women Convener Praveena Singh, Zonal Secretary Champa Verma also expressed his views.

Earlier, a huge rally was taken out from the Railway Rest House to Mikali, which reached the Railway Station, where an open session was organized.
