Star Australian batter David Warner’s glorious Test career came to an end with the team’s third win over Pakistan in the third and the final Test match of the series at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday. With Warner having already announced his retirement at the conclusion of the series, Pakistan captain Shan Masood presented a jersey signed by all the members of the Pakistan team as a present to Warner, who also confirmed that he won’t be playing the ODI format either.
“As a token of appreciation, we thought that the whole squad could give you Babar Azam’s shirt as a gesture and a parting gift. We wish you all the best,” Masood said as he handed over the jersey to Warner.

David Warner’s Career In Numbers
David Warner ends his career with as many as 112 Test caps. He accumulated as many as 8786 runs in these matches at an average of 44.6, having scored 26 centuries and 37 half-centuries including one in his final Test innings. Warner who recently announced that he won’t be playing in the ODI format either, featured in 161 ODIs where he 6932 runs at an average of 45.01 and a strike rate of 97.26. In the 50-overs format, he finishes with 22 hundreds and 33 half-centuries.
Mostly known for his heroics with the bat, Warner also has 4 Test wickets to his credit and has best figures of 2/45. While he was a left-handed batter, he very rarely bowled right-arm legbreaks. The Australian cricketer will continue to ply his trade in T20Is and franchise leagues around the world.
