A woman and a man drowning in the sea off Mumbai were rescued by a team from the Yellow Gate police station. Both were tourists and were drowning in the sea near the ‘Gateway of India’. According to the police, the boat of tourists named Vikas Salvi and Nikita Damania collided with another boat due to the strong current. After this both fell into the deep sea. The woman did not know how to swim, so she started drowning.

On receiving information about his fall, a boat was sent from the South Zone Police Control Room for rescue. The Coastal Police boat quickly reached the spot and saved the life of the woman and her male friend through a tube. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were discharged after preliminary examination. ASI Vasikar, ASI Manoj Patil, ASI Jarvekar and Police Constable Bundil were involved in this rescue operation.

Mumbai Police said that the woman and her friend had boarded the boat from the Gateway of India.

Similar incident happened in Palghar too
Earlier, one person was killed when the boat capsized on Rangaon beach in Vasai town of Palghar, while the other five people on board were rescued safely. According to the police officer, the six people illegally hired a boat for fun and went to sea at Rangaon Beach, but the boat capsized there, killing Steven Coutinho (38), a resident of Girij. Went. Five others were rescued with the help of local people.
