‘Veerbal Award’ to Sangrur’s Amandeep: At the age of 14, 4 children were rescued from a burning bus, former CM Captain saluted

Two years later, the youth were honored with the “Veerbal Puraskar” by the Child Development Council of India due to the Corona transition. Including the name of 14-year-old Amandeep Kaur from Sangrur district of Punjab. Amandeep Kaur was killed in a school bus accident. Along with herself, she was also successful in saving four children.

The accident took place on February 15, 2020 in a school van carrying 12 students on the Longowal-Sidsamachar road in Sangrur district of Punjab. Eight students had a narrow escape in this entire accident, while four died. Out of eight, 1 was Amandeep Kaur herself and 4 were saved by her. In 2020, the then Captain Amarinder Singh also praised Amandeep and saluted Amandeep’s bravery by tweeting on Twitter.

Amandeep Kaur said that on the day of the incident, as soon as the van started moving, I told Sir (teacher-cum-driver Dalbir Singh) that there was some smell coming from the van, but Sir started driving it. I told Sir again that the stench was increasing, but he looked around and kept on driving. When the fire appeared later, the situation was out of control. Amandeep first came out by breaking the glass of the van and secured herself.

Amandeep broke a window and jumped out. In such a time, the people around had also come for help, but due to the fire, there was a problem. Amandeep helped pull out four children from the burning school van.
