The outgoing MLC was accused of taking revolver’s license on a fake address. It is alleged that he obtained the revolver’s license by showing the address of Pratapgarh district. The then Kotwal had filed a criminal case against him in 1997 at Nagar Kotwali in this connection.
Akshay Pratap Singh is a resident of Jamo in Amethi district of the state.
The trial was going on in the court of a special judge, MP-MLA at Pratapgarh. However, Akshay Pratap Singh did not appear during the hearing on Tuesday when the aforesaid order was pronounced by the court.

As per legal experts, his chances of contesting the forthcoming MLC elections will be barred, if he is convicted by the court in the present case.
