By India Today World Desk: A restaurant staff in New Mexico was arrested after he lost his bag of cocaine that somehow landed in a customer’s hot dog, the police said on Sunday. The man was working at Sonic Drive-In restaurant, said the police.
The 54-year-old accused, identified as Jeffrey David Salazar, faces a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance, the Espanola Police said in a statement.
As per the police, illegal narcotics were discovered in a customer’s food at Sonic Drive-In. The substance was inadvertently placed in the food as Salazar was preparing the order, the police added.

Based on a “field test,” it was confirmed that the substance discovered in the food was cocaine, the police confirmed.
In a statement, the police said, on Tuesday, a woman called to inform that she discovered a plastic bag while biting her food in a restaurant. She insisted any of the powdered substance went into her mouth, the police told the media.
According to the arrest warrant, Salazar was seen on CCTV footage conducting “what appeared to be a hand-to-hand transaction with a female employee.” Salazar then prepares the customer’s food appearing to frantically search the area “as if he had lost something.”
Salazar admitted to police that he purchased the pack of cocaine from someone in the restaurant’s parking lot, the arrest warrant states.
