Tragic incident in Lancaster as a 4-year-old boy is killed by a stray bullet in a road rage shooting. Suspects arrested. Local community mourns

A 4-year-old boy in the US County of Los Angeles lost his life after being struck by a stray bullet during a road rage incident. Local authorities described the incident as an “unimaginable” road rage incident involving two suspects who chased down the victim’s family and unleashed a barrage of gunfire on their vehicle.

The incident occurred on Friday, December 15, at around 7:29 pm on Sierra Highway in the city of Lancaster. In a statement, the Los Angeles police said that a man fired into the family’s vehicle, hitting the child who was seated in the back.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the boy was pronounced dead. A 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder. However, their names were not immediately disclosed.

“Investigators immediately began working on the case, and the suspect vehicle was located in the immediate area. A Black male, 29 years of age, along with a White female, 27 years of age, have been arrested for the murder. There are no outstanding suspects, and no other people were injured during the incident,” the LA police said.

Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris has expressed the community’s shock over the latest US shooting incident. “It’s unimaginable. This could have been any of our families. It could have been any of us,” he told local media.

The incident marked the second time in two days that a child has died from gunfire in the country, according to the Gun Violence Archive, a website that tracks shooting incidents nationwide. On Saturday, an infant was fatally shot at a home in the state of Tennessee. In that incident, a one-year-old was fatally shot at a home in Memphis early Saturday morning.
