In a bizarre incident, a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria helped his wife get remarried to her lover. The incident resembled the plot of the 1999 blockbuster movie ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam‘, with a slight deviation as the woman chose to go with her lover.
The couple was married for a year before the woman’s affair came to light, according to a report by India Today.
As per the report, the woman’s lover, identified as Akash Shah, a resident of Bihar’s Gopalganj reached her in-law’s house in Deoria on Friday night on a motorbike and created a scene.
When locals came to know about the incident, they caught Akash Shah and thrashed him.
However, he told them he had been in a relationship with the woman for two years.
He decided to come to her house and meet her as despite her marriage to another man, he was unable to forget her.
The wife then pleaded with her husband to let her go with her lover, the India Today report said quoting police.
Things took an unexpected turn when the husband agreed and decided to get them married.
The man then proceeded to get the consent of both families, before taking his wife and her boyfriend to a temple and getting them married.
The man then sent his wife and her boyfriend off on the same motorcycle Shah arrived on.
