UP Unlocked: Religious places will open during the weekend lockdown, only five devotees are allowed inside

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to allow places of worship to remain open even during the weekend curfew. However, not more than five devotees can be present inside religious places at any one time. Earlier, the government had only allowed religious places to operate from Monday to Friday.

According to a government spokesperson, depending on the area of ​​the campus, a maximum of 50 persons were allowed inside. The spokesperson also said that industrial units would also be allowed to function over the weekend.

The spokesman said: “The government has opened most places from Monday, but curfew will be imposed on weekends to ensure that the rate of COVID-19 infection remains low. The day will be allowed. Police want people to be respectful and sympathetic. It should also be ensured that there is no unnecessary crowd anywhere.”

The Yogi government has also started giving relief with the effect of reducing the second wave of the virus. After the removal of partial curfew in 75 districts, there has been some relaxation in the night curfew. Apart from this, restaurants, parks and street food shops have also been allowed to open with some restrictions.
