UP Board Exam 2024: Education Director Takes Review Meeting Regarding Class 10 Maths Exam, Inspects Centres – News18

Over 3 lakh students skipped exams in UP on the first day of boards.

Minister Mahendra Kumar Singh Yadav held a review meeting with subordinate officers. He inspected and monitored more than 8,000 examination centres, and talked to supervisors of 75 districts.

The Uttar Pradesh Class 10 boards have commenced with much strictness and vigilance across the state. Right on day one, over 3 lakh students skipped the exam due to the excessively strict actions taken by the authorities, like introducing ID cards with barcodes, CCTV camera installation for intense monitoring, police surveillance and online monitoring of the exam centres as well. On the first day, five cheating cases were reported and actions were taken against offenders, fake candidates and an administrator as well. Amidst this scenario, the Joint Secretary at the Department of Education held a review meeting.

On Sunday, Mahendra Kumar Singh Yadav held a review meeting with subordinate officers. He inspected and monitored more than 8,000 examination centres, talked to supervisors of 75 districts one by one and sought information regarding any problems they faced. Secretary Madhyamik Siksha Parishad (UP BOARD), Prayagraj, Dibyakant Shukla laid out instructions for officers to maintain vigilance during examinations. On February 27, the Mathematics paper is scheduled, hence instructions have been given to exercise caution. Apart from keeping an eye on the strong room, there will be a crackdown on centres where there are chances of trouble. Special Task Force (STF) too will be deployed to curb cheating during exams. The government too is monitoring the exam. Exam centres in sensitive places like Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Deoria, Ballia, Aligarh and Mathura will be under special surveillance.

Right after the Mathematics paper of Class 10 on Tuesday, February 27, in the second shift, the Home Science paper will be held in the second shift. As per reports, the officials were busy discussing the strategy to conduct a fair and cheating-free examination. Guidelines have also been issued to all the districts through Google Meet.

It is important to note that the District School Inspectors formed 600 teams across the state and monitored more than 4,000 examination centres. 29,47,311 Class 10 students are registered in 8,265 examination centres in Uttar Pradesh. As per Dibyakant Shukla, all preparations are in place to carry out the exam in a safe way. Cheating in examinations will not be allowed and the Control Room is also active 24 hours.
