New Delhi: The month of March has the national capital, Delhi, remained dry because it hasn’t rained once. Along with this, due to the harsh sunlight, the heatwave continues. In Delhi, the maximum temperature on Sunday was 36.8 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees above normal, and on Monday morning the minimum temperature was 22.2 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees above normal.

Will Delhi get any respite from the dry hot weather or will the heatwave will begin early as it usually occurs in the month of May and June. The Meteorological Department’s forecast regarding rain and heatwave for the coming few days are:
- According to the Met department, there are no signs of relief from the heat in Delhi in the coming days.
- At the same time, there is no possibility of rain and heat waves till April 3.
- The weather will remain dry and there will be harsh sunlight.
- On March 29 and April 1, winds will blow at a speed of 25 to 35 km.
- Till April 3, the maximum temperature will be 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be close to 22 degrees Celsius. It means there will be no significant fluctuation in temperature.
- According to weather experts, scorching heat is considered a sign of good and strong pre-monsoon.
- There is a possibility of good pre-monsoon activities in May and June.
What is the criterion for declaring the heatwave?
The Met department has predicted heatwave conditions in south Haryana, including Faridabad and Gurgaon, till March 30. IMD Chief Scientist RK Jenamani said that when the temperature rises 4.6 degrees to 6.4 degrees above normal or the maximum temperature reaches 45 degrees Celsius or more, then the condition of the heatwave is considered.
