India’s two-year term in the UN Security Council ends on December 31. Regarding the presidency, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ruchira Kamboj, said on Wednesday that India spoke in favor of peace, security and prosperity during her two-year term. Further said that India was the voice of the entire Global South. We consolidated our views. Also said that we are committed to multilateralism and reforms in the United Nations.

Speaking to ANI, Ruchira Kamboj, Permanent Representative to UNSC said that we have raised the voice of the entire Global South and strengthened our commitment to basic principles including multilateralism, rule of law and a fair and equitable international system. India assumed the presidency of the United Nations Security Council in August 2021.

Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement about India’s tenure as a member of the UN Security Council and its presidency in December, Kamboj said India has used the prestige and experience of being the world’s largest democracy for the benefit of the whole world. Done for Appreciating India’s tenure and achievements, Kamboj said that we can feel proud to say that India still stands by its words.
