The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has finally announced the dates and venue for their 300th pay-per-view. UFC CEO Dana White made the highly awaited announcement during the seasonal press conference this morning.

He revealed that the 300th pay-per-view event will take place on April 13 next year, and also told SunSport that the card will take place in the city of Las Vegas. The event is scheduled to be held at the T-Mobile Arena, which is also the promotion’s second home since 2016. While nothing has been made official about the matches itself., White hinted that the card is going to be stacked from the top to bottom

The official account of UFC also posted an update on X to let the fans know about the announcements.

Dana White also confirmed that Jim Miller would be competing at the event, making him the only fighter to feature in UFC 100, UFC 200 and UFC 300. It is still unknown as to who will top the card. There have been strong rumours about a potential return of the former two-division champion Conor McGregor. His rival coach Michael Chandler will be welcoming back the superstar in the 31st season of the Ultimate Fighter.

A fight had already been scheduled for McGregor that would see him headline the promotion’s final card of the year in UFC 296 to be held in Vegas. However, McGregor’s abstention from the USADA’s six-month drug testing pool ended up delaying the fight. USADA’s partnership with the UFC ends on December 31 which means that the company’s poster boy could soon make an early return. Conor McGregor was UFC’s first-ever simultaneous two-weight-weight champion.

He hasn’t competed in the octagon ever since the fighter broke his left leg in his rematch with Dustin Poirier in January 2021.

UFC 100 was aired 14 years ago back in July 2009. The main title fights of that event included Georges St-Pierre taking on Thiago Alves and Brock Lesnar competing against Frank Mir. Seven years later, UFC 200 was held in July 2016 and saw Brock Lesnar fight Mark Hunt while Conor McGregor’s fight against Nate Diaz had to be suspended due to disciplinary issues.

The promotion still has three cards remaining ahead of the UFC 300. The UFC 297 is scheduled to take place in the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. It will be held in January next year with two major fights scheduled. The main event will take place between Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis while the second major fixture will be the Raquel Pennington vs Mayra Bueno Silva match. UFC 298 and 299, on the other hand, will be held in February and March, respectively.
