Free Fire India game from Garena has still not launched

Garena Free Fire India launch was supposed to happen in a few weeks but the battle royale game has still not launched for users.

Garena Free Fire India was announced amidst much fanfare a couple of months back and the company said the game has been delayed by a few weeks back then. The company said that it is taking additional time to comply with the local norms and also refining the gameplay for users. But that was in early September and now it has been two months since the news came out. So where is Garena’s Free Fire India game for Android users?

We checked for the availability of the game on Play Store and it still says you can pre-register to install the game on your phone and when the game is officially available you will get the game installed automatically. To pre-register for the game, you can click this link to sign up on the Google Play Store. You can also turn on the “Automatic Install” switch so that the game will download automatically when it’s released.

We have also reached out to Garena to get an official update on the launch of Free Fire India and will update the story with their statement when we hear back from them.

Free Fire India is Garena’s take on the popular battle royale game that has been completely redesigned for games in India. Garena is partnering up with Yotta for cloud hosting in India, allowing the developer to comply with the country’s regulations.

We have earlier seen Krafton do something similar when it launched the popular PUBG Mobile as Battleground Mobile India (BGMI) earlier this year. Krafton has also set up its shop for BGMI locally with the help of its partners who can ensure that all the data of BGMI users from India resides within the country.
