Elon Musk has finally revealed the launch timeline of Twitter Blue subscription in India. In response to a question from a Twitter user, Musk said that Twitter Blue is planned to be launched in India within a month. Until now, Twitter Blue was only present in four countries, the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. For this, $ 4.99 was charged. However, now it will be launched worldwide with new features.

Now only blue users will get blue tick badge
Elon Musk revealed last week that only Twitter Blue users will now get the Blue Tick Verified badge on their account. Even existing users who have a verified badge will have to pay for Twitter Blue and subscribe. However, these users can get a grace period of around 3 months to switch to the paid subscription. If they do not take blue subscription, then the blue tick will be removed from their account.

200 rupees can be charged in India
A new subscription to Twitter Blue will cost $7.99 in the US. iOS users have also started getting a new update in the app for this service. However, this service is not operational yet. At the same time, its price in India has not been disclosed yet. However, Musk had said that the price would depend on the purchasing power of the country. In such a situation, speculations are being made that Rs 200 per month will be charged for this service in India.

What are the benefits to users by getting a blue tick?
Those taking paid subscription will get 5 types of facilities.

  • Will get priority in reply
  • Priority will be given in the Mention
  • Priority will be given in search
  • Can post long videos and audios
  • Half the ads will be seen compared to normal users

Apart from these, this feature will help to curb spam. Blue Tick subscribers can also read paid articles for free if publishers have a contract with Twitter.

Elon Musk said that fees can vary from country to country. The fee will depend on the purchasing power and capacity of that country. How much it will be in India, there is no information yet.
