‘Tu Apun Ki Jaise Hai’ Said Govinda To Sonam Khan On Working With Her In Raeeszaada

New Delhi: Sonam Khan, the ‘Oye Oye Girl’ of Bollywood in the 90’s, was one of the most popular actresses in the industry at the time. Known for her bold professional and personal choices, the actress rose to popularity in the 90’s after being launched by the legendary Yash Chopra in the film ‘Vijay’.

Sonam Khan has featured in numerous hits, with many calling her the Golden Girl of the 90’s. On the anniversary of one such hit, Raeeszada, the actress shared a throwback post, revealing some unknown and interesting stories about the film’s shoot and how it was working with one of her co-stars Govinda.

In the caption she wrote “Taking a trip down memory lane by celebrating 32 years of #Raiszaada. Back in the day, #Govinda was already a superstar and I was just starting out in the industry, yet he graciously welcomed me with kindness.”

Talking about her experience on set, she added,  “The whole experience working with the crew and the cast was out of this world. #Govinda’s humility and energy always lit up the whole set. He never let any dance choreographer scold me; in fact, he’d guide me personally through each step.”

Drawing similarities between herself and co-star Govinda, Sonam Khan added “Coming from humble beginnings, he’d often say, “Sonam, Tu Apun Ki Jaise Hain”, reminding me of our cultural roots. I owe a significant part of my short but memorable acting career to this incredible human being. He was like a guardian angel and a mentor.
Today, as we celebrate 32 years of #Raiszaada, I express my heartfelt gratitude for being a part of a movie that left an impeccable impression on me and my journey as an actor. ✨💖”

These insights will certainly pique the interest of fans of both Sonam Khan and Govinda, whose ‘Jodi’ became immensely popular after the films release.
