Transwoman sentenced to 7 years for the first time in Kerala: accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy, also fined 25 thousand

A Kerala court has sentenced a transgender woman to seven years in prison for sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy. The accused, a 34-year-old transwoman, is Sachu Samson, a resident of Chirankeezhu in Thiruvananthapuram district. The special fast-track court in Thiruvananthapuram has also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Samson.

In fact, this is the first time in Kerala that a transgender has been punished for a crime. In the case, Justice Sudarshan said that if the fine is not paid, the accused will have to stay in jail for one more year. In the case, a case has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act.

The incident of 2016, both had befriended at the station
Special Public Prosecutor RS Vijay Mohan said that the entire incident took place on February 23, 2016 when the transwoman victim who was coming from Chirayinkizhu to Thiruvananthapuram by train met the boy. She befriended the boy and when the train reached Central Station, she coaxed the boy out of the station to her hideout, where she sexually assaulted the boy. According to the police, when the boy refused to go with him, the accused also threatened him. The boy did not tell his family about the incident.

The case was revealed from Facebook
The accused later called the boy several times to come to some places, but the boy refused. The boy’s mother noticed that her son was constantly texting and seemed upset while talking on the phone. When the boy blocked the phone number, the accused transwoman had sent a message on Facebook.

The boy’s Facebook account was logged into his mother’s phone. When her mother saw the messages of both on Facebook, she was shocked. The boy’s mother replied to the message and called Thampanoor to meet her. As soon as the accused reached there, the police, already on the lookout, arrested her.
