Today is the fifth day of Khelo India Youth Games. Boxing competition has started from today. Host Haryana will also be eyeing to win maximum medals in this game. Today CM Manohar Lal also reached to see the competitions. He is accompanied by Sports Minister Sandeep Singh. CM met the players. The CM said that I am extremely happy that Haryana Government is becoming their charioteer in the journey of these young players from ground to medal. In the competition, Ravideep of Rajasthan won the gold medal in the 3 thousand meter race of boys. Similarly, Supriti Kach of Jharkhand won the gold in the girls’ 3,000m race. Similarly, Senthil Kumar of Tamil Nadu won gold in 800m final. Jharkhand’s Ashakiran Barla won gold in 800m race. Maharashtra team won gold in 400 meters race.

Players will show Jauhar for a total of 20 medals in the boxing competition. Haryana’s goal of becoming the overall champion this year may depend on how many gold medals the state’s boxers will be able to win in boxing.

The host team’s coach Rajbir announced that our eyes are set on winning 15-16 gold in boxing. Haryana camp is ready to fight fearlessly on the strength of its boxers. We have dominated the ring in the past and we will do so again here.

The Haryanvi boxers include Geetika (48kg), Khushi (63kg), Muskan (66kg), Lashu Yadav (70kg) and Vijender Singh’s niece Tamanna (50kg). Among the boys, Vanshman (63.5kg), Deepak (75kg) and Vishal (80kg) are also some Haryanvi players waiting to deliver knockout punches.

Punjab is at fifth position with 22 medals including 8 gold.
