Gokhale has been arrested again for violating the code of conduct.
A metropolitan magistrate’s court in Ahmedabad on Thursday granted bail to Trinamool Congress spokesperson Saket Gokhale in a case related to a tweet. He had posted this tweet regarding the Morbi bridge accident. But as soon as he got bail, he was arrested again for violating the code of conduct registered in Morbi. Morbi police has brought Gokhale to Morbi.
Gujarat police arrested from Jaipur airport
Saket was arrested by the Gujarat Police on Tuesday for allegedly spreading ‘fake news’ against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Monday, Gokhale took a flight from New Delhi to Jaipur at 9 pm. When he landed, the Gujarat Police was waiting for him at the Jaipur airport and arrested him. After this the Gujarat Police brought him to Ahmedabad.
On the evening of 30 October, a bridge over the Machhu river in Morbi collapsed, killing 135 people.
Team of TMC leaders leaves for Morbi
After the arrest of Saket Gokhale last Thursday, a team of TMC leaders has left for Morbi. TMC leader Derek O’Brien has made allegations regarding Gokhale’s arrest. He said that Saket Gokhale has been arrested without any notice or warrant. At the same time, a team of 5 TMC leaders is reaching Morbi in support of Gokhale. The team consists of Dr. Shantanu Sen, Khalilur Rahman, Asit Kumar, Dola Sen and Sunil Kumar Mandal.
Saket had said – 30 crores spent on Modi’s Morbi visit
On October 30, a bridge collapsed in Gujarat’s Morbi city, killing more than 130 people. After this PM had visited Morbi. TMC leader Saket had tweeted on this. In this, Saket had said that 30 crores were spent on Modi’s visit to Morbi.
The fact check unit of the government had recently pinned down a tweet by Gokhale in which he had shared some newspaper cut outs. It was said that it has been revealed in RTI that 30 crore rupees were spent in PM’s visit to Morbi. News agency PIB tweeted and said – This claim is fake.
