Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Jeevanjot Kaur, who defeated veteran leaders like Navjot Singh Sidhu and Bikram Singh Majithia in the Punjab Assembly elections, has received threats to kill her. AAP MLA from Amritsar East assembly seat was threatened on social media by a youth named Sikander Singh, living in Paradise Colony of Narayangarh in Chheharta area of Amritsar. After this, a case was registered against Sikander Singh under the IT Act at Maqboolpura police station in Amritsar.
MLA Jeevanjot Kaur told the police that a person named Sikander Singh is using obscene language against him by creating an ID on the social site. Apart from making obscene remarks towards him, this man is threatening to kill him. The matter was informed to Punjab DGP VK Bhawra and Amritsar Police Commissioner Arunpal Singh. After this the cyber cell started investigating the matter.

The police is checking the blue-print of the ID made on social media to know who created this ID. Where did you make it? Maqboolpura police station claims that soon they will arrest the accused.
Jeevanjot Kaur won by 8129 votes
In the assembly elections held this year, Jiwanjot Kaur defeated the then Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and Akali Dal veteran Bikram Singh Majithia from Amritsar East seat. The AAP leader got a total of 34,257 votes in the election and won by a margin of 8,129 votes. Sidhu came second and Majithia third in that election.
