Yesterday’s big news was the investigation of the train accident in Odisha and the bridge being built on the river Ganga in Bihar.

But before tomorrow’s big news, today’s major events, which will be watched…

  1. Delhi High Court will give its verdict on Manish Sisodia’s bail. Sisodia has sought interim bail citing his wife’s health.
  2. The Varanasi court will give its verdict in the 31-year-old Awadhesh Rai murder case. Mukhtar Ansari, the main accused in the case, is currently lodged in Banda Jail. He will be presented virtually in the court.
  3. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will meet Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi. There can be talks on sharing technology of American fighter jets and buying drones.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that a CBI inquiry will be conducted into the train accident that took place in Odisha’s Balasore on Friday evening. After taking stock of the accident site, the Railway Minister attributed the accident to a change in electronic interlocking.

At the same time, the Railway Board says that the accident happened due to a fault in the signal. Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena claimed that not 288 but 275 people had died in the accident. He said that some bodies were counted twice, due to which there was a discrepancy in the death toll.

2. Bajrang, Sakshi and Vinesh met Home Minister Shah, demanded the arrest of Brijbhushan
Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia met Home Minister Amit Shah demanding the arrest of former Wrestling Federation president Brij Bhushan Singh. This meeting held at Shah’s residence lasted for two hours. The meeting has been confirmed by the mother of a female wrestler.

After the meeting with the Home Minister, Bajrang Punia stopped the mahapanchayat held in Sonipat from taking a major decision. Bajrang said- I will request the farmer leader not to take any decision today. We will hold a panchayat on behalf of the players. Its location will be decided in 3 to 4 days.

3. The bridge being built on the Ganga river in Bihar collapsed, was being prepared at a cost of Rs 1700 crore

The length of the bridge being built on the Ganges is 3.6 meters.  About 200 meters of it fell into the river.

In Bihar, the four-lane bridge over the Ganga river between Khagaria and Bhagalpur collapsed. Its four pillars also got immersed in the river. There is no information about any casualty in the accident. CM Nitish Kumar had laid the foundation stone of the bridge in 2014. Which was being prepared at a cost of Rs 1710 crore.

The 100 feet long structure of the bridge fell into the river last year as well. Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav says that there was already a fault in the design of the bridge, so the work was started again after breaking it completely. Will work afresh in 3 months.

Karnataka Animal Husbandry Minister K. Venkatesh says when buffaloes can bite, why not cows. He argued that farmers have problems keeping old cattle and transporting dead animals. The minister made this statement indicating a change in the Cow Slaughter Protection Act.

The Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka is considering amendments to the Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill, 2020. This bill was brought by the BJP government in 2021. Former Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai condemned Venkatesh’s statement and said that we worship cow as a mother.

Sherpa rescues climber in Everest’s death zone, hanging by a rope at 8000 meters

A Sherpa from Nepal saved the life of a Malaysian climber trapped in the death zone of Mount Everest. This climber was hanging from a rope in extreme cold at an altitude of 8,500 meters. The Sherpa carried him on his back and dragged him on the snow in between and brought him 600 meters down to Camp-3. It took 6 hours to do this.

After this, the climber was airlifted from Camp-3 to the base camp. The part of Mount Everest with a height of more than 8 thousand meters is called Death Zone. The temperature here goes below minus 6 degrees and it is extremely difficult to survive without oxygen support. Read the full news here…
