Thakur Das Bhargava was the brother of the first Chief Minister of United Punjab.
Thakur Das Bhargava was the elder brother of Gopichand Bhargava, the first Chief Minister of United Punjab. Thakur Das Bhargava was born in 1886 in Rewari. After completing law education, first advocated in Delhi and then in Hisar. Pandit Madan Mohan became a member of Lala Lajpat Rai’s Nationalist Party and was elected a member of the Central Assembly in 1926. Became a member of the Central Assembly in 1946 as a Congress member. Even after this he became a Member of Parliament in United Punjab. He was a member of the Indian Constituent Assembly. Thakur Das Bhargava participated in the movement against cow slaughter. He also wrote two books on cow slaughter.

On 8 April 1929, when Bhagat Singh and Batukeshner Dutt dropped two bombs in the assembly hall, Thakur Das Bhargava was attending the session at that time. He was a member of the Central Assembly from 1926 to 1929. At that time he was the assembly member from Ambala division.

His grandson Jagdeep Bhargava recounts that Thakur Das Bhargava included the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, Article 48, equality authorities for women. He has an important role in the drafting of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. Thinking about the post of Vice President, his powers and need, he also wrote its preamble. Apart from this, the Supreme Court has also mentioned an amendment made by him in the Constituent Assembly regarding Article 21 of the Constitution. All the laws made in independent India in the year 1962, remained active in their parliamentary committees.
