Full emergency was imposed at Thiruvananthapuram airport on Friday for the landing of an aircraft. Air India flight going from Calicut to Saudi Arabia was suspected of hydraulic failure. After this Air India Express flight IX 385 was diverted towards Thiruvananthapuram. There were 168 passengers in it.

Sources said that during takeoff from Calicut, the rear part of the aircraft hit the runway. Before landing, extra fuel of the aircraft was dropped in the Arabian Sea as a precautionary measure. This was done so that the possibility of fire in the aircraft during landing could be reduced.

Will be sent by another flight at 3:30
Air India Express said that the plane landed safely at Thiruvananthapuram airport at 12:15 pm on Friday. There were 168 passengers on board the aircraft. Everyone is safe. Passengers will leave for Dammam in Saudi by another flight at 3.30 pm.

Air India plane had hydraulic failure in January as well.
On January 29 this year, Air India flight IX 412 had a hydraulic failure. The aircraft was going from Sharjah to Kochi. It carried 183 passengers and 6 crew members. During this also, full emergency was implemented for the landing of the aircraft at Kochi airport. After this the emergency landing of the aircraft was done.

what is hydraulics
The landing gears of the plane i.e. the wheels work on hydraulic pressure. For this, different pistons and cylinders are used, which are filled with oil. When the oil in the piston of one side is pressurized with pressure, the same pressure is reached in the piston of the other side. When this system malfunctions, the aircraft’s wheels do not open properly during landing. This condition can be dangerous.
