The negligence of the doctors led to the death of the child trapped in the trachea

The death of an eight-month-old baby has been proved by the negligence of the doctors. After that the hospital authorities have taken action against the doctors. An investigation report into the child’s death has already been sent to the health building. The hospital authorities wanted to know from the inquiry committee what action could be taken against all these doctors. The incident took place at NRS Hospital in Kolkata. It was alleged that the child died because he was not treated properly.

According to hospital sources, the child named Ritesh Barui died on March 4. The family members first took him to the NRS hospital as a paper box was stuck in his trachea. From there they are taken first to the emergency department and then to the pediatric surgery and ENT department. However, doctors there said he needed a laryngoscopy to find out what was stuck in his windpipe. The baby is then laryngoscopied. However, doctors said nothing was found there.

According to sources, the child was then shifted to PG Hospital for bronchoscopy. There, doctors performed a laryngoscopy and removed a paper box from the baby’s throat. However, by then the baby’s body was deficient in oxygen. As a result, it was not possible to save him even if he was kept on ventilation.

The family members of the NRS hospital have complained of medical negligence in the incident. Doctors at NRS Hospital could not show any reports of laryngoscopy of the child. As a result, laryngoscopy was not performed on the baby and the doctors did not even try to save him. Such was the complaint of the child’s family. The NRS hospital authorities formed a three-member investigation committee to investigate the incident. On its basis the negligence of the doctors was proved.
