The Kerala High Court will hear today six petitions challenging the release of the film ‘The Kerala Story’. The hearing is listed at 10.15 am in the bench of Justice N Nagresh and Justice Sophie Thomas. The Supreme Court and the Madras High Court have already dismissed the petitions seeking release and ban.

It is worth mentioning that from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to Shashi Tharoor, questions have been raised on this film to be released on May 5.

Madras High Court dismissed the petition
A petition was also filed in the Madras High Court demanding a ban on The Kerala Story. In which it was claimed that the release of the film would disturb religious harmony and public peace in the country. It was rejected by the vacation bench of Justice AD ​​Jagadish Chandira and Justice C Saravanan.

Court said- Why are you coming at the last moment? If we had come earlier, we could have asked someone to watch the film and decide. You have come without even watching the film. The Kerala High Court is already hearing a similar challenge.

What is the controversy related to Kerala Story
The Kerala Story is a film about a group of women from Kerala who join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The film is releasing on Friday, May 5. CBFC had asked for 14 cuts in the film before its release.

Its trailer was released on 26 April. The 2 minute 45 second trailer shows how 4 college going girls join a terrorist organization.
