The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has moved the Supreme Court (SC) defending the freebies schemes. AAP has demanded the court to dismiss the petition seeking cancellation of recognition of the parties which had announced free scheme before the elections. The matter will be heard in the Supreme Court on August 11. The AAP party has also demanded to make itself a party in this matter.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that providing free electricity, water, wifi, and transportation to people cannot be considered as “free ki revdi clutcher” as claimed by the BJP. Kejriwal has called such schemes a democratic and constitutional right of political parties.

AAP’s taunt on BJP
Taking a jibe at the BJP, the Aam Aadmi Party said that loan waiver and tax relief is not a free scheme for some parties. These people make some promises when they come to power, but do something else after coming to the government. The party said on Monday that PM Modi had promised Rs 15 lakh in the account of every Indian in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Two crore jobs were promised, but after the formation of the government, not a single promise was fulfilled.

Center and EC should consider stopping free scheme: SC
On August 3, there was a hearing in the Supreme Court on the free revdi clutch. Then the court had said that no political party wants to debate on it, because this scheme is beneficial for all the parties in terms of elections. All parties want it to continue. The court said that the free scheme causes damage to the government exchequer. The Central Government and the Election Commission (EC) should consider a ban on this.

PM Modi had said- Trying to collect votes by distributing free revdi
Inaugurating the Bundelkhand Expressway in UP, he said that efforts are being made to bring in the culture of collecting votes by distributing free Rewari in the country. This is very dangerous for the development of the country. Be very careful with this. Those with Revdi culture will never build new expressways, new airports or defense corridors for you. The people of Rewari culture feel that the public will buy them by distributing free Rewari to Janardan. Together we have to defeat this thinking of them, remove Revdi culture from the politics of the country.

On this, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had said – to give free and good education to the children of our country and to provide good and free treatment to the people – this is not called distributing free rewari. We are laying the foundation of a developed and proud India. This work should have been done 75 years ago.
