Designed by fashion designer Arpita Mehta, Rakul Preet Singh’s toasted orange and pink ensemble she adorned for her mehendi ceremony, drew inspiration from the world of phulkari.

Rakul Preet Singh was one ‘happy’ bride and her smile in the dreamy wedding pictures said it all. Every function and ceremony celebrated by the power couple Rakul and Jackky Bhagnani exuded love and togetherness.

After sharing a couple of images from their wedding and sangeet on social media, Rakul posted a series of fun-filled moments from their mehendi ceremony hosted in Goa. The vibrant hues of hot pink filled the colourful soiree with lots of love and laughter.

“For Rakul, incorporating her culture and roots into her look was paramount. As a Sikh Punjabi girl, we drew inspiration from the beautiful world of phulkari to craft a truly enchanting ensemble,” expresses fashion designer Arpita Mehta, who designed the one of a kind statement piece for Rakul.

According to Arpita Mehta, the outfit not only celebrates Rakul’s heritage but also showcases craftsmanship and innovation, making it a truly unique and memorable creation for her special occasion.

Reviving the traditional art form – phulkari, the outfit designed for Rakul featured a toasted orange and pink ensemble, adorned with geometric floral phulkari motifs

Bringing the vibrancy to her overall look was the elaborate hand-embroidered cape, complemented by a corset blouse and a pleated skirt.

Blending classic traditions in modern silhouettes has always been Arpita Mehta’s style and she seamlessly celebrated both in Rakul’s mehendi attire. The intricate embroidery work took a total of 680 hours to complete. The lehenga features phulkari-inspired embroidery using a combination of pink-orange sindhoori thread mixed with golden Kasab and cutdana, along with mirror work, adding a touch of opulence and cultural richness to Rakul’s attire.
