25 people died in the Buldhana bus accident, while 8 people, including the driver and cleaner, managed to save their lives.

During the bus accident on July 1 in Buldhana, Maharashtra, its driver was under the influence of alcohol. This information has come to light in the forensic investigation of the accident.

The chemical analysis report revealed that the driver had 0.30% alcohol in his blood. According to police officials, the driver’s blood alcohol content must have been high during the accident as his blood sample was taken 12-13 hours after the accident.

25 people were burnt to death in this accident. At the same time, 8 people including the driver and the cleaner of the bus were able to save their lives. The driver Danish Sheikh was arrested by the police for rash and negligent driving.

People could not get out due to gate closure
Amravati’s Regional Transport Office had told that the bus first hit a pole. After this the driver lost control over the bus. After this the bus collided with the divider and overturned. During this, the diesel tank of the bus caught fire.

The bus fell on the road from the left side, due to which the gate of the bus got closed and the emergency gate also got damaged. In such a situation, the passengers did not get a chance to get out of the burning bus. Only a few people managed to get out by breaking the glass.

‘Nobody gave a call to call the fire brigade’

The passengers who survived the accident had told how their lives were saved. Shashikant Gajbe, a passenger told- ‘I was on the last seat. All the passengers were sleeping. I woke up in the middle of the night with a loud noise and jolt. There was smoke and screams everywhere. Was suffocating.

I broke the glass. Then someone dropped me out. Coming out, I extended my helping hand to other passengers, but they could not get out because of the flames. Within no time, the entire bus was engulfed in flames. Men and women were shouting. Other vehicles stopped seeing the flames.

I was asking for a phone to call the fire brigade, but people kept on making videos. I kept on shouting. No one called. After about half an hour, the fire brigade extinguished the fire after reaching the spot.

The bodies were completely burnt in the accident.  DNA testing had to be done to identify them.

Kailash Gangavane, a resident of Ambegaon tehsil, had gone to Nagpur with his family to get his son’s admission in college. He was returning from this bus with his wife and daughter.
