The doors of Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand will be opened on 25 April. Final preparations were done on Monday before the doors were opened. The temple is decorated with 20 quintals of flowers. It snowed here on Monday morning as well. Thousands of pilgrims going to the temple have been stopped from proceeding due to bad weather.
Pilgrims have been asked to wait at Rishikesh, Gaurikund, Guptkashi and Sonprayag till the weather improves. Here, Baba Kedarnath’s doli reached Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand on Monday afternoon. A large number of devotees were present during this. Flowers were showered on the doli by helicopter.

The Chardham Yatra started on Saturday from Akshaya Tritiya. In the next 5 days, Hindu pilgrims will visit Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri. The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri opened on 22 April. The doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on 27th April.
The Uttarakhand government has stopped the registration of pilgrims for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra till April 30 in view of the heavy snowfall on the pedestrian route to Kedarnath and the meteorological department’s warning. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy snowfall in Kedarnath Dham Marg and Dham. Bad weather is expected in Kedarghati for the next one week.
In view of the avalanche warning, the district administration is taking necessary action. Kedarnath Dham received intermittent rain and snowfall on Sunday. The state government has issued an advisory for the pilgrims. Yatris have been told to keep warm clothes and essential items with them before going to the Dham.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Health Secretary Dr. R.K. Rajesh Kumar is taking stock of the health services on the Chardham Yatra route. In this episode, Health Secretary visited Kedarnath Dham and checked health units at various places. Health Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that the Health Department has made complete preparations regarding the Chardham Yatra.
Appeal to inform first if there is illness
The Health Secretary said that there is an appeal to the pilgrims that if the devotees above 55 years of age are suffering from sugar, BP, heart disease etc., then inform them in advance. He said that such devotees would be monitored through Health Service 104.
According to the Health Secretary, this time during the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand, the government has a special focus on the Kedarnath Yatra route. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday flagged off vehicles equipped with medical facilities for Char Dham Yatra pilgrims in Dehradun.
Two pilgrims died in Yamunotri
On the other hand, another pilgrim died of a heart attack in Yamunotri on Sunday. Dinesh Patidar (40), a resident of Padhaniya tehsil of Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, died while returning from Yamunotri on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, Kanak Singh (62) had died. He was a resident of Kaushamba, Surat in Gujarat.
