The doors of Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand will be opened on 25 April. Final preparations were done on Monday before the doors were opened. The temple is decorated with 20 quintals of flowers. The Chardham Yatra started on Saturday from Akshaya Tritiya. In the next 5 days, Hindu pilgrims will visit Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri. The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri opened on 22 April. The doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on 27th April.

The Uttarakhand government has stopped the registration of pilgrims for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra till April 30 in view of the heavy snowfall on the pedestrian route to Kedarnath and the meteorological department’s warning. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy snowfall in Kedarnath Dham Marg and Dham. Bad weather is expected in Kedarghati for the next one week.

In view of the avalanche warning, the district administration is taking necessary action. Kedarnath Dham received intermittent rain and snowfall on Sunday. The state government has issued an advisory for the pilgrims. Yatris have been told to keep warm clothes and essential items with them before going to the Dham.

Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar said, there was heavy snowfall in Kedarnath Dham on Saturday. Pilgrims should be alert and start their journey keeping in view the weather. Two pilgrims died in Yamunotri
On the other hand, another pilgrim died of a heart attack in Yamunotri on Sunday. Dinesh Patidar (40), a resident of Padhaniya tehsil of Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, died while returning from Yamunotri on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, Kanak Singh (62) had died. He was a resident of Kaushamba, Surat in Gujarat.
