Rajputs and Brahmins are again face to face after 30 years in the race for the post of Chief Minister in Himachal Pradesh. This time Mukesh Agnihotri from the Brahmin community is also in the race for CM in Himachal Pradesh. So far in the history of Himachal, only Shanta Kumar became the Chief Minister twice in 1977 (then Jansangh) and in 1990 by winning elections on BJP ticket.

But he could not complete his reign both times. Shanta Kumar remained the Chief Minister for only two and a half years from 1990 to 1993 in his second term. But in the meantime the government of Himachal Pradesh was dismissed after the Baori Masjid demolition.

When mid-term elections were held in 1993, the Congress came to power and Virbhadra Singh became the Chief Minister. After this, in 1998, the BJP returned to power again with the help of Pandit Sukhram’s Himachal Development Congress, then the BJP high command handed over the key of power to Prem Kumar Dhumal, belonging to the Rajput community.

Due to this, in the next election in 2003, again the Chief Minister of Congress was Virbhadra Singh. After this, the government again turned upside down, then BJP came to power again with full majority, Prem Kumar Dhumal became the Chief Minister again. In 2012 again Virbhadra Chief Minister and in 2017 after the defeat of Prem Kumar Dhumal, the BJP made Jairam the Chief Minister from the Rajput community itself.

Jairam’s lottery was started when Dhumal lost

The last 2017 election in Himachal Pradesh was fought by the BJP under the leadership of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. The BJP came to power in this election but the candidate for the post of CM lost his election. As soon as Dhumal was out of power, Jagat Prakash Nadda, who was sitting in the center, also made a bet and made Jairam the Chief Minister to strengthen his lobby.

Till the last moment no one knew who would be the chief minister after Dhumal. But the BJP high command removed Jairam’s name from its box and made him the Chief Minister. Now the challenge for Jai Ram is that if the party wins the election, he will have to bear the brunt of the defeat.

This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has contested elections for the first time under the leadership of Chief Minister Jairam Thakur. Before this, Jairam Thakur has no experience of campaigning for a candidate in another assembly constituency and making him victorious. . Digar is also that if this time Jairam Thakur succeeds in mission repeat and changes the custom, then he will go ahead of former chief ministers Prem Kumar Dhumal and Shanta Kumar.

Congress fought the election only on the party symbol.

After the demise of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who ruled the Himachal Pradesh Congress alone, the Congress did not have such a face to contest the elections. That’s why this time in the election, instead of giving preference to any one face, the Congress contested on the party symbol only.

But the rumor of Congress coming to power has created a situation of one pomegranate and a hundred sick. At present four people are involved in the race of CM in Congress. Most of them include Thakur Kaul Singh, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Mukesh Agnihotri and State Congress President Pratibha Singh and former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s son Vikramaditya Singh.

Claim will depend on Kaul’s lead

Senior Congress leader Thakur Kaul Singh, who was in the race for chief ministership when the Congress government came to power, had a bad relationship with former chief minister Virbhadra Singh in his last days. He also had to face defeat in the last election due to bad relations. Although there was a time when Virbhadra Singh had declared Kaul Singh as his successor. Now their claim depends on the margin of their lead. This time, against Kaul Singh, the BJP had fielded Purna Chand Thakur, who was his Hanuman, from Drang.

Sukhu hopes for blessings from the high command

BJP’s insurgency and infighting in Nadaun assembly constituency under Hamirpur district has made Sukhu’s way easier. But there are many stumbling blocks in his way in the race for Chief Minister. Although Sukhu will get less support from the MLAs to achieve his goal, but he is hopeful of getting blessings from the Congress high command.

All eyes on Mukesh’s assembly constituency

This time everyone’s eyes are fixed on the seat of Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri. The biggest reason behind this is the Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP had put all its efforts in Haroli assembly constituency to beat Mukesh. Mukesh Agnihotri remained the target of the government while being the leader of the opposition for five years.

There were also attempts to harass him in many ways. But he did not leave the ground but stood firm. Although everything will be clear after the results are out today, but there are discussions in the political circles that Mukesh is tight this time.

Rebels will spoil the game, will neither win nor let them win

In Himachal Pradesh, due to the party high command ignoring the candidates who have been waiting for tickets for years, the candidates who rebelled will spoil the arithmetic of big faces. BJP’s rebel Praveen Sharma from Mandi, Ram Singh from Kullu, Kirpal Parmar from Fatehpur, Indu Verma from Theog and Congress’s Subhash Manglet from Chaupal broke away from their party lines and contested as independents. All these rebels could hardly get their seats but they have spoiled the figures of their party’s candidates as well.

Prime Minister had to call

This time BJP changed the cancellation of seats in Fatehpur assembly constituency under district Kangra, then picked up from Noorpur and threw sitting MLA Rakesh Pathanian to Fatehpur. Here Kripal Parmar, a former Rajya Sabha member of the BJP, was a ticket seeker.

When he did not get the ticket, he went on a rebellion. Parmar, who belonged to the Dhumal faction, stood up as an independent and opposed the party so forcefully that the Prime Minister himself had to call him and ask him to withdraw his nomination. But still he did not agree. Parmar is not contesting from Fatehpur to win the election but to teach the party a lesson.

BJP with rebel in Mandi

Mandi Sadar Assembly Constituency, which is considered to be the bastion of politics, where Chanakya Sukh Ram has been the sole ruler of politics, this time the path of Anil Sharma is also not easy. He has contested elections by going from Congress to BJP but BJP has not fully supported him.

BJP rebel Praveen Sharma has given a lot of dent to the party candidate. Now even if Anil Sharma’s boat crosses N-Ken-Prakran, the contribution of BJP will be less and that of Congress will be more. Because here there was not only opposition in the BJP, but there was also opposition to giving ticket to Champa Thakur.
BJP vs BJP contest in Dehra also
The results are going to be very interesting on the Dehra seat. Former chief minister Shanta Kumar’s disciple Ramesh Chand Dhwala’s party had also changed its ticket from Jwalamukhi to Dehra this time. Azad MLA from Dehra Hoshiar Singh was also assured of a ticket by inducting him into the BJP.

But later Dhwala was dropped from Dehra by denying him ticket. BJP tried to pacify Hoshiar Singh but he again contested as an independent candidate. Ravindra Ravi, who had lost the election from Dehra, has been fielded by the BJP this time from Jwalamukhi.

Minister’s reputation at stake in Jaswan Pragpur
Industry and Transport Minister Vikram Singh’s reputation is at stake in the Jaswan Paragpur seat of Kangra district. Here, Sanjay Parashar, an independent candidate associated with the Sangh, has increased the difficulties of Vikram Singh. Here Congress candidate Surendra Singh Mankotia is giving a tough challenge to the minister due to mutual disunity in BJP.

theog so hot seat
Theog, which has always been a hot seat because of veteran Congress woman leader Vidya Stokes, will be eyeing everyone this time too. Here CPIM’s sitting MLA Rakesh Singha, former Congress state president Kuldeep Singh Rathore and former MLA’s wife and independent Indu Verma have made the contest interesting.
