Writer, Poet and English Professor, Dr Vangeepuram Sreenatha Chary has written one of the most expensive literary works in the world namely, ‘An Invaluable Invocation’. Priced at Rs 5 crore, only one copy of the book has been printed so far.

The literary piece is said to be the lengthiest English poem in the history of mankind. Chary realized his 30-year-old dream of creating a literary work by stringing together the themes of world peace, people’s problems and their solution. It took him three years to complete the book.

The work also discusses day-to-day issues faced by the mankind, including war, unemployment, hunger, corruption, poverty, terrorism, food security, gender discrimination, natural calamities, kids losing their childhood, struggles of senior citizens, along with environmental, societal and lifestyle issues.

While mentioning the problems of the world, the book also aims at providing an action plan to resolve the said issues.

The author called upon the people to come forward in implementing the detailed action plan mentioned in the book. The literary work of 316 pages, written with a social cause, was dedicated to the United Nations Organisation on October 24, 2023 to mark the UN Day.

The book also gives a special mention to the 195 countries – including 193 member and two non-member countries of the UNO – with a caption ‘United Nations – United Action Plan’.

The countries’ introduction – written along with their respective national flags – mentions their past glory, their current key issues and their solutions.

According to Chary, the society has four kinds of people:

  • The wealthiest people with philanthropic approach towards mankind
  • The wealthiest people who won’t spend a single penny towards the society’s needs
  • People who want to do good but don’t have the money for it
  • Poor people who are unable to serve the society due to financial restrictions

This literary work is an attempt to highlight the good in the society, to show that there are golden-hearted people who serve the society as a team even if they don’t have the money for it.

Chary also explained the reason behind pricing the book at Rs 5 crore and said, “In general, the books published by writers will be priced on an average of Rs 1,000 per copy. But our book was printed only for charity purpose and not for personal benefits of individuals and the main theme of it was not applicable to just one community, society or a nation. It is applicable to the entire mankind.”

The author noted that after the book is sold, 50 per cent of the amount will be donated to the UNO, 25 per cent to the Indian government and the remaining 25 per cent will go to the Telangana government.

“Later, we will publish the book for the common man and try to reach up to 800 crore people across the world,” Chary said.
