Tejas Networks Scores Order Worth Rs 7,492 Crore For BSNL’s Countrywide 4G,5G Networks

Tejas Networks revealed on Wednesday that the company has successfully executed a master construct for the supply, support, and annual maintenance of services of it’s Radio Access Network(RAN) equipment for BSNL’s pan-India 4G,5G networks, spanning almost 1,00,000 sites, with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.

The company also stated that it has received a purchase order from TCS worth Rs 7,492 crore. This order is expected to be completed during the calendar years of 2023 and 2024, reported PTI. The support and maintenance services are to be provided for 9 years post the warranty period. 

The company stated that it has received the order after the successful completion of trials. Tejas’ CEO and managing director, Anand Athreya, added, “We are delighted to be selected as the sole supplier of 4G/5G RAN equipment for one of the largest mobile networks in the world. Our cutting-edge portfolio of baseband and radio products will enable BSNL to roll out a scalable and cost-effective network that meets world-class performance and quality standards. This also furthers our mission to create India’s first global-scale telecom and networking products company with an end-to-end suite of wireless and wireline offerings,” as quoted by PTI.

Commenting on the trial and testing prior to the finalisation of the contract, Tejas Networks’ CTO, Kumar Sivarajan said, “Our state-of-the-art 4G/5G RAN products were subjected to rigorous field testing by BSNL for nearly eighteen months before being chosen for this large-scale commercial deployment. This win is a true testament to the engineering excellence and innovation prowess of our R&D team that successfully developed and delivered an industry-leading product in a complex technology area in record time.”

The company recently posted it’s results for the first quarter and recorded a consolidated net loss of about Rs 26 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, compared to the loss of Rs 11.5 crore reported in the same quarter a year earlier.
