Eight people were killed and 17 injured in a fire that broke out at a firecracker factory in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram on Wednesday. The injured have been admitted to hospital. Several fire engines are trying to control the fire. The reasons for the accident are yet to be known.
25 people were working in the factory
Kanchipuram Collector M. Aarthi told that 25 people were working in the factory. On the other hand, DGP of Fire and Rescue Services, Abhas Kumar told that the entire building of the factory collapsed due to the explosion. The team of Fire Service and the District Police are engaged in the rescue operation.
There was a blast after the fire in the factory, after which the entire building collapsed.
second incident in a week
This is the second incident of death in a fire cracker factory in Tamil Nadu in a week. Earlier, two people were killed and one person was injured in a fire that broke out at a firecracker factory in the state’s Dharmapuri on Thursday.
In this case, Chief Minister MK Stalin had announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh each to the family of the deceased and Rs one lakh to the injured undergoing treatment in a government hospital.
