Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s PA Sudhir Sangwan was eyeing Sonali’s property. He had prepared the papers to get the lease of 6 acres of Sonali land falling on the Hisar-Sirsa National Highway in his name. He also took tokens from Hisar Tehsil office thrice for this, but due to some reason or the other, Sonali could not reach Tehsil on the scheduled date.
Goa Police has arrested Sudhir Sangwan in Sonali Phogat murder case and has taken him on 10-day remand. In connection with the investigation of the same case, Goa Police reached Sonali’s Dhandur Farm House in Hisar on Wednesday. Goa Police will also visit Sonali’s Kothi built in Santnagar, Hisar.
Sonali’s advocate Rajesh Bishnai said that the lease papers prepared by Sudhir will be given to the investigation team of Goa Police.
Found out when the record was removed
According to Sonali’s advocate Rajesh Bishnoi, the family got the property registered in Sonali’s name from Hisar Tehsil office on Tuesday to check the records. It was revealed in this that Sudhir was eyeing Sonali’s six and a half acres of land. Sudhir was in the process of getting this land leased in his name. He had prepared the documents related to it.
To get the lease registered in his name, Sudhir had also got tokens deducted thrice from Hisar tehsil. However, due to one reason or the other, Sonali could not reach the tehsil on all three occasions and Sudhir could not succeed in his objective.
Six and a half acres of land in Sonali’s part
Sonali Phogat and her sister have 13 acres of land in their name. This land is on lease for 99 years in the name of both the sisters. In the partition, Sonali’s share got 6 and a quarter acres of land. This land is in Dhandur on Hisar-Sirsa National Highway. After the death of Sonali’s husband Sanjay Phogat in 2016, the land and girdavari became Sonali’s name. Out of this, Sonali’s Dhundur farm house has been built in 3 acres and warehouse in the remaining three and a half acres.
At present the market rate of this land is more than Rs 2 crore per acre. That is, the cost of this land alone is more than 12 and a half crore rupees. Due to the farm house and warehouse being built on it, its price is many times more than this.
Sudhir knew about breaking the lease
Sudhir Sangwan knew that the lease of the land was broken. In such a situation, he had filed an application in Hisar Tehsil office to take Sonali’s land on lease for 99 years. After preparing the land lease papers, Sudhir had also got tokens deducted from the Tehsil office three times to get it registered in his name.
Sonali’s property in crores of rupees
Apart from six and a quarter acres of land on Hisar-Sirsa National Highway, Sonali has many other properties. According to the affidavit given while contesting from Adampur assembly seat in 2019, Sonali owns Kothi in Santnagar in Hisar and one flat each in Noida and Gurugram. It is also recorded in the affidavit that he has more than 50 tola of gold, whose value at present is more than 25 lakh rupees.
Sonali’s only daughter Yashodhara is the owner of all this property. Yashodhara is currently only 15 years old. As per the 2019 affidavit, till that time no vehicle was registered in Sonali’s name.

Sonali’s brother also got lime of 1.5 lakh
Sudhir had also duped Sonali’s brother Watan Dhaka of 1.5 lakh. Watan told that Sudhir took 1 lakh 47 thousand rupees from him a few months ago saying that the installment of Sonali’s flat has to be paid. He arranged the money from somewhere. Sudhir sent a man to collect the money. After Sonali’s death, the family has now come to know that the flat for which Sudhir took 1.5 lakh rupees in the name of installment was on rent.

The keys of Sonali’s kothi and flat used to stay with Sudhir. Not only this, Sudhir also used to keep his ATM card and check book of banks. Sonali’s family has appealed to the police to recover all these things from Sudhir and get them.

Daughter involved in investigation
Meanwhile, the Goa Police team, which reached Hisar to investigate the murder of Sonali Phogat, also included Sonali’s daughter Yashodhara in its investigation. The team recorded the statements of 15-year-old Yashodhara. After this, the room of the upper floor of the building built in the rear part of the farm house was opened from Yashodhara. The Goa Police officers searched the room in the presence of Sonali’s family members.
