Ukraine Russia War: As repatriation of Indian students stranded in Ukraine continues on the eighth day of Russian invasion in Ukraine, Bindu Tyagi, a student from Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh, returned home after facing the situation there. The entire family is very happy with the safe return of their daughter. Bindu had gone to Ukraine to study medicine. She said that the situation there is not good and many students are still stranded.

Bindu Tyagi hails from Orai in Jalaun. On her return to home, the family members hugged their daughter and welcomed her with garlands. After the safe return of the daughter, there is an atmosphere of celebration in the family, Bindu returned home but she said that the situation in Ukraine is no longer the same as before. There are still many students stranded there. After the Russian invasion, troubles are increasing with each passing day in Ukraine.
Students have been hungry for many days.
Speaking at the Bar in Ukraine, Bindu said that she had gone to study medicine at the university there, but Russia changed everything by invading Ukraine. Everyone used to hide in the bunkers as soon as they would hear the sound of sirens, she recalled. There were missile attacks around the city. The conditions in Kharkiv and Kyiv are uncontrollable. There the students have been hungry for the last several days, Bindu said.
It’s very difficult to get out of there.
Bindu said that she somehow reached the Ukraine-Poland border by train but the even bigger task was to cross the border. The situation in Poland was quite uncontrollable. The government which is airlifting the students from there is a good step, but it will be better if the government helps the students to cross the border. At the same time, she appealed to the government to make medical studies cheaper so that students do not have to travel abroad for it.
