Student drowns in Bhedaghat, student-teacher swayed to save: Balance disturbed while making Instagram reel; the death of the one who was stopping

Teacher and two students drowned in Narmada in Bhedaghat. Teacher and a group of 8 students from Vijayraghavgarh in Katni had reached New Bhedaghat for a picnic on Wednesday afternoon. The students crossed the railing and started making Instagram reels on the banks of the river. Meanwhile, the girl’s foot slipped. A student and a teacher were also swept away while trying to save him. The body of the student was found trapped in the rocks after 1 hour of the incident, but the students and teachers who went to rescue them are still missing.

Student Abhishek Chaudhary told that teacher Rakesh Arya (30) had brought him for admission in paramedical course. Four friends Prabhav Lodhi, Anil Raidas, Satyam Bari and he had come to Jabalpur a day earlier i.e. on Monday itself, while Dhaneshwari, Khushboo Singh and Ram Sahu had reached on Tuesday morning. Teacher Rakesh tried to save by holding his hand, but due to the strong current, he too got swept away. Student Ram Sahu also tried to save both, but he too got washed away in the strong current of Narmada.

After the incident, the students called Dial 100, but the call did not go through. Local people informed the Tilwara police station. Shortly after, Khushboo’s body appeared. Divers pulled him out. Ram Sahu and teacher Rakesh were searched till late night. After visiting Bhedaghat, the plan of the students was to go to the room again and see. After cleaning, preparations were also made to purchase beds etc. from the market.
