Sri Lanka Vs Zimbabwe 1st ODI: Sri Lanka hosts Zimbabwe for a three-match One Day Internationals starting January 6. Sri Lanka are coming off a horrific ODI World Cup campaign as they endured humiliating defeats and were a subject to sheer embarressment at the hands of a solid Indian side as they were bowled out for less than 60 runs twice in a span of 2 months, with the first instance being the Asia Cup 2023 Final, and the other being the group stage match against India at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Sri Lanka will be playing their first match since their ninth place finish in the ODI World Cup, tied with Bangladesh and Netherlands on 4 points each, with Bangladesh being eighth and Netherlands being 10th, on the basis of net run rate.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, had a memorable 2023 but did miss out on a spot in the ODI World Cup after a heart-breaking defeat against Scotland. However, the African nation ended their 2023 abruptly after series defeat against Ireland in both ODI’s and T20I’s.

Both the sides will be looking to kick start their 2024 cricketing action on a positive note and it starts with a tour of Sri Lanka for Zimbabwe.
