According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), there is a possibility of leakage from the fuel tank of the aircraft. NDTV quoted DGCA as saying – During the flight, the crew realized that the level of the fuel tank of the aircraft was suddenly decreasing.

In other words, the indicator in the cockpit showed that the fuel was depleting much faster than normal. For this reason the pilot had to make a landing in Karachi. It would be more correct to call it a precautionary landing rather than an emergency.
