Sonam Wangchuk has shared this video message on his Twitter in the name of PM Modi.

Ladakh-based social reformer Sonam Wangchuk, on whose life the film ‘3 Idiots’ was made, has appealed to Prime Minister Modi to save Ladakh as a study claims that nearly two-thirds of the glaciers here are on the verge of extinction. Sonam has released a video, in which he is talking about Ladakh’s tribes, industries and glaciers.

At the end of the video, Wangchuk said that he is going to fast for 5 days from January 26 to draw PM Modi’s attention towards Ladakh. His fast will be in Khardungla with -40° temperature. Sonam has called it climate fast.

Told PM Modi – I will meet again if I am alive
In the video, Sonam demanded Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to take action on Ladakh at a high level. He said- “My appeal to PM Modi is to save Ladakh and other Himalayan regions from industrial exploitation as it will affect the lives of the people of Ladakh.”

In Ladakh a man spends 5 liters of water every day
Sonam Wangchuk said that if negligence continues in Ladakh. If Ladakh is not given protection from industries, then the glaciers here will become extinct. Because there will be shortage of water due to industries. The people of Ladakh live in water on the basis of 5 liters per day. If hundreds of industries are set up here, if mining takes place, then the glaciers will end due to dust and smoke.

Recent research by Kashmir University and other research organizations has shown that if Ladakh is not taken care of, two-thirds of the glaciers in Leh-Ladakh will disappear.

Climate fast trial was also done on Monday

Sonam also conducted a climate fast trial on the roof of her institute Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh, at an altitude of 11,500 feet in Phayang on Sunday night. He has shared a video of this. In which the temperature device kept near his head is showing a temperature of -16 degrees. In the video, Wangchuk is saying that it is very cold here, but I am alive.

Who is Sonam Wangchuk and why is she famous
