His PA Sudhir Sangwan, arrested for the murder of Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat, is a resident of Noorankheda village in Sonipat. Noorankheda village of Gohana area is the village of former BJP MP Kishan Singh Sangwan.
Sudhir came in contact with Sonali for the first time during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and gradually got hold of her everything. From the keys of Sonali’s flat-farm house to her ATM card, Sudhir used to keep it. From whom will Sonali meet? Who will get entry at his farm house? This too was decided by Sudhir.
Sudhir Sangwan’s first meeting with Sonali happened before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The meeting was organized by a man from Gagdwas village in Bhiwani district, who has links with many film actors. He was already familiar with Sonali, because being a Tik-Tok star, Sonali was active in the acting world.
Sudhir keeps Sonali away from family
A person associated with Sonali said on the condition of anonymity, ‘One day I got a call from Sonali. She said that a guest from Australia has come to the house. He is a lawyer and I will go and meet him. When I reached Sonali’s house, Sudhir was walking in Capri. After a day, he left. After a week, Sudhir came again and stayed at Sonali’s house for 7 days. Gradually, he made Sonali’s house a permanent home. Within a month, Sudhir understood who is close to Sonali in the family.
Slowly he went on taking possession of everything. Sonali’s brother Rinku Dhaka and brother-in-law Aman Poonia have said that even Sudhir did not allow Sonali’s family members to talk to her. Sonali’s mobile phone was kept by Sudhir only. Whenever the family members called, Sudhir would pick up the phone and talk to Sonali only when he wanted to.

For the first four-five months after meeting Sonali, Sudhir kept working behind the scenes. Sonali was fielded by BJP from Adampur assembly seat in the 2019 Haryana assembly elections. That was Sonali’s first election. After Sonali got BJP ticket, Sudhir came openly in public. He used to decide most of the things in Sonali’s election campaign too.
Vehicles arranged for election campaign
According to people associated with Sonali’s family, Sonali did not have funds to contest elections after getting BJP ticket in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections. Alam was that Sonali used to have a Fortuner car, which was gifted by someone. As soon as he got the ticket, the person took his car back. After that Sudhir brought a Mercedes car which stayed with Sonali for about 10 days. Sonali also uploaded a photo with this vehicle on her social media account.
The vehicle met with an accident during the election campaign. Then only Sudhir and Sonali were in the car. After the accident, Sudhir took the car back and brought a black Mercedes. Sonali also uploaded a photo with this vehicle. After this Sudhir brought the black colored Endeavor SUV which remained in Adampur area till the polling. By doing similar help in the election campaign, Sudhir increased his closeness with Sonali.
In Sonali’s car, the driver himself used to sit with the bodyguard.
Sonali’s brother-in-law Rishabh Beniwal says, ‘We used to campaign for the Sonali medal in the assembly elections. During the entire campaign, Sudhir did not allow any worker or leader to board his car. Only the driver, Sonali, Sudhir and the bodyguard used to sit in the car. Sudhir had completely subdued Sonali madam. I told Sonali sister many times not to listen to her words. I had even said that as long as Sudhir is there, I will not come to his farm house.

According to Rishabh Beniwal, Sudhir knew that Sonali’s BJP government and leaders run. Taking advantage of this, he got many works done for himself and his loved ones through Sonali and also earned money.
Sonali’s cook was also fired
Umaid, who worked as a driver at Sonali’s Dhundoor farm house and Narayan, who worked as a gardener, said, “Sudhir wanted to drive everyone on his own accord. He had also fired madam’s cook. After this, he started seeing the same thing about his food. He used to talk differently to everyone. We told these things to Sonali madam many times but madam could not refuse her. Sudhir did not even give full money after getting the work done. There was a fight with him about it. After that we just left the job. Sudhir slowly fired all the old people working in the farm house.
