Six coaches of Godavari Express derail near Secunderabad, 19 trains canceled

SECUNDERABAD : Six coaches of the Godavari Express derailed between Bibinagar and Ghatkesar. Due to this, the Railways has canceled 19 trains of the section. No passenger was injured in the incident. According to officials, six coaches including S1-S4, GS and SLR were derailed. Passengers were evacuated from the same train by separating the derailed coaches. SCR has arranged a helpline number for details of passengers: (040 27786666). The incident happened on the morning of Wednesday, 15 February.

Passengers coming out after derailment of bogie

Train number 12727 (Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad) Godavari Express going from Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh has met with an accident between Bibinagar and Ghatkesar. According to South Central Railway, a total of 19 trains have been canceled fully or partially due to derailment of coaches of Godavari Express. Earlier on January 18, a coach of Visakhapatnam-Kirandul train derailed at Shivalingapuram station of Kottavalasa-Araku section.

Top officials of South Central Railway led by General Manager Arun Kumar Jain along with other emergency medical and relief equipment had reached the spot. Relief work has been started.
