Pakistan’s finance minister had earlier said that food would be imported from India if needed to deal with the food shortage in Pakistan due to the floods. However, Pak Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif practically dismissed this claim. He also brought up the Kashmir incident in this context.

A part of Pakistan is completely devastated by the flood. Thousands of deaths have been reported so far. 33 million affected people are homeless. The Prime Minister of Pakistan said that there was no problem in trade with India but genocide was going on there and the rights of Kashmiris were not being protected. Abolition of Article 370 has undermined the rights of Kashmiris. Even when the people of a large part of the country are in danger, the Pakistani leaders talk about Kashmir.

He said, I am willing to sit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi anyway. Because there is no situation to fight. We also want to use our meager resources to eradicate poverty from our country. But peace cannot be restored until those issues are resolved.

Pak Prime Minister said, this time we don’t want to do politics. But it is true that minority rights are curtailed in India. We want peace in this region. He also opined that peace can come through the steps of compassion. However, nothing has been reported by India.

However, Pakistan’s Finance Minister had earlier said that if the supply is damaged, the door of import of vegetables should be kept open. If it is possible to bring vegetables from India I will do so.
