Shraddha Murder Case: Forensic Team To Visit Delhi Jail For Aftab’s ‘Post-Narco Test Interview’

New Delhi: A four-member forensic team will visit the central jail in Delhi on Friday for ‘Post-Narco Test Interview’ of Aftab Poonawala, news agency ANI reported.

Aftab’s narco analysis test was successfully completed on Thursday.

“Four-member team of Forensic Science Laboratory and Investigating officer will visit the Central jail tomorrow for the ‘Post-Narco Test Interview’. This arrangement has been made in view of the high risk involved in the transportation of Aftab,” ANI quoted the jail officials as saying.

The narco test of Aftab, who is accused of murdering his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar, was conducted at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini, Delhi Police officials said.

The accused was brought by Delhi Police from Tihar jail where he is currently lodged, to Rohini hospital around 9 am for the test.

Before undergoing the test, a general examination was conducted to check his blood pressure, pulse rate, body temperature and heartbeat. Aftab also signed a consent form agreeing to the narco test, after which he was put under anaesthesia and was subjected to the analysis.

The narco test was conducted by a team of forensic experts, including, a photo expert, forensic psychology expert and one doctor of forensic medicine and the Nodal Officer, Narco, Ambedkar Hospital.

His narco test was over by 11:45 pm after which he was kept under observation and administered psychotherapy. After he regained full consciousness, he was taken back to Tihar jail with full security.

In the case registered under the Mehrauli Police Station under Sections 365, 302, 201 of the Indian Penal Code, the narco test of Aftab began this morning, according to Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, Special CP (Law & Order) Zone II.

Earlier on Monday the police van carrying Aftab, came under attack by some sword-wielding men.

Notably, Delhi Police said that earlier during a polygraph test, Aftab had confessed to killing Shraddha in May this year, and chopping her body into several pieces. He is also alleged to have stored her body parts in a refrigerator and gradually disposed them of.
