Rahul Gandhi’s India Jodo Yatra is once again in the headlines. A shopkeeper in Kerala’s Kollam has alleged that his shop was vandalized for not paying travel donations. The shopkeeper’s name is S Fawaz and he runs a vegetable shop in Kollam. Kerala Congress President K Sudhakaran has suspended three workers after the video of the vandalism surfaced.

S Fawaz said that on September 14, some local Congress leaders came to his shop and started asking for donations for the trip to India. The shopkeeper gave 500 rupees, but he demanded two thousand rupees. When the shopkeeper refused to pay this amount, Congress workers ransacked his shop and also threw vegetables on the road.

A total of 119 India travelers are involved in the Congress’s India Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Srinagar. Bharat Yatri means those people who will complete the journey of 3570 km on foot. 32 of them are also women.
