Shocking decision of Mann government: extended the service period of contract employees by one year; Announcement was made to confirm 25 thousand government jobs and 35 thousand raw employees

In Punjab, the AAP government led by CM Bhagwant Mann has taken a shocking decision. After the formation of the government, neither new government jobs were found nor were the contract employees confirmed. Despite this, the Government has issued a decree to extend the service period of raw employees by one year i.e. 31 March 2023. A letter in this regard has been sent to the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts and the heads of the concerned departments.

Service to be extended until recruitment
It has been written in this letter that if it takes time for regular recruitment to a contractual post, then their service period should be extended. This decision can be taken even if the department requires it. It was written in the letter that the service of these employees can be increased till a law is brought to ensure that raw employees. It has also been said that regular recruitment has not been done in place of contract employees in many departments. Therefore, if regular recruitment takes time, then the contract should be extended.

Announcement to make 25 thousand government jobs and 35 thousand confirmed
After the formation of the government in Punjab, CM Bhagwant Mann had announced that his government would give 25 thousand government jobs. Its advertisement will be released within a month. At the same time, it was announced to make sure 35 thousand employees working on contract. However, no further action has been taken in this regard beyond the announcement.
