Self-made guillotine-like weapon to cut throat.
A heart-wrenching case of superstition has come to light in Vichhiya taluka of Rajkot. Here, after a tantric ritual, the husband and wife, working by profession, sacrificed their heads by chopping off their heads in the Havan Kund. The husband and wife have also left a suicide note, in which they have written about killing themselves.
Self-made guillotine-like weapon for beheading
The deceased couple has been identified as 38-year-old Hemubhai Makwana and 35-year-old Hansaben, said Sub-Inspector Indrajit Singh Jadeja of Vichhiya police station. The husband and wife themselves made a guillotine-like weapon to behead. The guillotine was made in such a way that both their heads would be cut off and fall into the Havan Kund itself.
The husband and wife had left their son and daughter at their maternal uncle’s house two days back.

Sub Inspector Jadeja further said that on inspection of the spot, it is clear that the husband and wife were lying under the guillotine plate. Upstairs the rope was burnt. It seems that both of them had set fire to the rope from below after placing their heads under the blade. As soon as the fire reached the top, the rope was cut and the heavy guillotine fell on the neck.
Husband’s head did not fall in Havan Kund
The police have recovered the wife’s burnt head from the Havan Kund, while the husband’s head did not fall in the Havan Kund. Because, his head has been recovered near the altar of Havankund.
For the last two months, in this hut built near the house, they were worshiping by making a Havan Kund.
Left the son and daughter at maternal uncle’s house
The brother of the deceased Hemubhai Makwana told that both had left the son-daughter at maternal uncle’s house two days back. The children often used to visit maternal uncle’s house. So it was not an unusual thing. Yes, it is true that brother and sister-in-law were doing worship every day in the hut for the last one year. But, no one had any idea that both would do something like this.

The husband and wife had left a suicide note on a Rs 50 stamp. It was written in the suicide note- Jai Bhagwan, Jai Bholenath, both of us are voluntarily sacrificing our lives with our own hands. Our family members are living very well. My brother also loves us very much. Till date he has never said anything wrong to my wife. They all take great care of us. That’s why they should not be questioned in any way. We are giving up our lives of our own free will. So don’t disturb any member of our family.

According to the information received from the family of the deceased, the handwriting of the suicide note is of 38-year-old Hemubhai Makwana.
Police probing both murder-suicide angle
The police officer investigating the case said that at present the bodies of both have been sent for postmortem. After registering a case, investigation is also being done that on whose advice both of them took this step. Is this not murder at all? Police is closely investigating all such angles.
