It was rehearsed by accused Mohammad Shariq before the auto rickshaw blast in Mangaluru, Karnataka on November 19. Shariq had gone to Kemmangudi on the banks of Tunga river in Shivamogga district along with two companions Syed Yasin, Maj Munir Ahmed. This is where these people rehearsed the blast.

In a report by news website India Today, quoting sources, it has been claimed that the rehearsal of Shariq and his companions was successful. However, when Shariq was preparing for the cooker bomb blast in Mangaluru on Saturday, the bomb exploded on the way.

Police will soon hand over the case to NIA
Karnataka DGP Praveen Sood said that soon this case will be handed over to NIA. NIA and ED have been involved in this case since the beginning. There is also an angle of financial transaction in this case, so it was necessary to inform the ED about the case. The DGP also said that the terrorist activity caused loss of life and property, but its larger aim was to create discord between communities and disturb the peace of the country.

Initial police investigation has revealed that Shariq was influenced by the Islamic State. He was in contact with this terrorist organization for a long time. Shariq brainwashed Syed Yasin and Munir Ahmed and made them fanatics like him. After this he was linked to ISIS. All three used to study together in school.

According to sources, Shariq had a handler who helped him plan and execute terror activities. It is not yet known whether the handler was an Indian or was giving instructions to Shariq from Pakistan or some other country.

Mohammad Shariq used to send PDF files and videos of bomb making to his associates Syed Yasin and Munir Ahmed. These people had bought timer relay circuits for bombs from Amazon. The rest of the bomb-making material like two 9-volt batteries, switch, wire, matchbox and other explosives were bought from Shivamogga in Karnataka.

It has been revealed in the police report that Mohammad Shariq used to do bitcoin trading. According to media reports, the police have claimed that Shariq used to send cryptocurrencies to his accomplices. All these companions of his have been caught by the police a few days back. Shariq kept calling himself a Hindu before the blast, he also had a fake Aadhaar card

Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar said that Shariq was pretending to be a Hindu in the auto so that no one would suspect him. On Sunday, the day after the accident, the Forensic Science Laboratory Division of the police reached Shariq’s house at Madahalli near Mysore, which he had rented. From here the team got the material to make explosives. According to the police, the accused was preparing to make more explosives.
