SRK and Preity Zinta’s rehearsal video goes viral

Back in 2004, Preity Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan shared the screen space in Veer Zaara, which turned out to be a cult classic.

‘Veer Zaara’ is considered one of the gems of Yash Chopra’s numerous love stories. This story of Indian Air Force pilot Veer Pratap Singh and Pakistani girl Zaara Hayat Khan was described in 2004 as not only a love story but something special. It redefined the canvas of Bollywood’s romantic films.

Shar Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukherjee gave one of the best performances of their careers through this film, and the late Madan Mohan’s melodies brought back the lost soul in music. Now a happy video of Shah Rukh and Preity from their rehearsal days has gone viral. The duo were seen grooving to the beats of their hit song, Tere Liye, from the film.

Veer-Zaara also starred Divya Dutta, Manoj Bajpayee, Akhilendra Mishra, Anupam Kher, and Zohra Sehgal in key roles, with special appearances from Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.

Veer Zaara will be completing two decades this year. Earlier, when the film clocked 15 years, Preity shared, “Remembering the iconic Veer-Zaara today—it’s not just a movie but an era. A time of decency, dignity, love, respect, and honor It’s my most memorable film experience. Working with the greatest director of all time, Yash Chopra, who insisted I call him Yash uncle while he called me Zaara till the day he passed.”

She further added, “There will never be another movie and a story like this, music like this, another director and legend like him, another Veer like Shah Rukh Khan, and another Samiya like Rani Mukerji. I still pinch myself, and I am forever indebted to being a part of this labor of love. I miss you, Yash Uncle.”

The film received several accolades, including the National Award for the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment in 2005.
